La Seduta Esaurita di Cristiana

My grandmother gave me the little chair
when I went off to live alone.
After she was gone, I always kept it
in my bedroom, to feel her near me.
As I do, even today, in the house
I share with my family.

If my chair had a name,
it would be Anna.
Its zodiac sign would be Pisces.
Its personality: Welcoming.
Its favorite piece of music would
be Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons.”
