SECOND LIFE, LA RINASCITA IN CITTA’:
10 ALBERI PER 10 TOTEM D’AUTORE

Il 25 luglio 2023 Milano si presenta irriconoscibile. Il forte nubifragio scatenatosi nella notte l’ha flagellata distruggendo centinaia di alberi. Gli alberi sono la nostra memoria planetaria e sono tra le prime vittime del cambiamento climatico in corso. Con questo progetto si desidera fare rinascere 10 alberi abbattuti—il nostro modo per curare le ferite di Milano tramite l’arte e la cultura, consapevoli che il bello cura. I 10 TOTEM realizzati con dei tronchi spezzati diventeranno il segno visibile di ciò che quella legna è stata e il simbolo di quello che sarà grazie alla sua seconda vita.

Ten talented designers were chosen for their unique skills, point of view, and sensibility. Each entered the project with passion, intent on channeling and reviving the spirit of each fallen tree.

The critical responsibility of bringing their vision to life with the perfect blend of modern technology and artisanal skill and sensibility was entrusted to AGM Arredamenti.

The process of moving the trunks, preparing the wood and transforming the remains of the trees into 10 creative monuments to memory and renewal took XX months. At then end of this remarkable gestation, the 10 completed works were displayed during the Salone del Mobile 2024 in Piazza San Fedele, then auctioned off the following autumn at the ADI Design Museum to raise funds for the future protection and replenishment of Milan’s green spaces.
